Web Team Launches New History Department Site
August 11, 2006
The IU Creative Services new media team launched a new Web site for the Indiana University Department of History.
The site features an entirely new design and architecture as well as student testimonials, historic photos, feature stories, a faculty and research section arranged in alphabetical and field order, and full profiles of each faculty member. Built in Dreamweaver templates, the site is now easier for history department staff to maintain and update.
Founded more than a century ago, the IU history department is vital to the university’s teaching and research mission. It is home to more than 50 leading scholars and teachers who publish books, articles, and essays on a variety of subjects—and who teach nearly 8,000 undergraduates enrolled in history classes every year.
Kirsten Sword, a history department faculty member and the Web team’s client for the project, reports that she and her colleagues are pleased with the new site—and with Creative Services. “The Office of Creative Services team—Jane Below, Kathleen Chmelewski, and Rebecca Salerno—went to extraordinary lengths to address our needs.”
