We currently have two openings on our New Media team:
Content Specialist (# 00030491)
Works with IU Office of Creative Services team to support online marketing and promotional efforts of various units of Indiana University. Develops conceptual content delivery ideas and solutions for Web sites, e-mails, DVDs, and other new media communications, based on knowledge of how the Internet and content management systems work. Researches, gathers, directs, and evaluates content for various projects. Writes original content and edits new and preexisting content in accordance with clients' goals, creative briefs, and production methods determined by project team (information architect, interactive art director, Web application developers, programmers, and clients). Implements findings from usability testing and focus groups. Balances multiple projects.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in English, journalism, telecommunications, or related field required. Preference given to candidates with two years experience in writing/editing experience for new media, and working knowledge of Indiana University or a comparable institution. Previous work in an organization or agency with a record of marketing/publications working for clients with multiple audiences and products strongly preferred. Outstanding writing and editing skills, creativity, knowledge of user-centered design principles, experience with creative production of Web sites and DVDs, and ability to translate content to XHTML needed.

Interactive Art Director (# 00015735)
Works with the Indiana University Office of Creative Services team (information architect, content specialists, Web application developers, programmers, and clients) to support online marketing and promotional efforts of various units of Indiana University. The Interactive Art Director creates compelling, user-centered visual designs for interactive Web sites and online publications, optimizing the use of screen layout and user-interface elements. Creates navigation systems; develops interactive features and design elements; performs analysis of visual, structural, and functional elements; and prepares and programs graphics for use within Web environments. Implements findings from usability testing and focus groups. Balances multiple projects.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in fine arts, visual communications, graphic design, informatics, new media, human-computer interaction, or related field required. Experience in interactive design in new media, developing Web sites using XHTML and CSS standards, and working as an art director in an organization or agency with a record of marketing/public relations work for clients with multiple audiences and products. Experience with Macromedia Studio, Adobe Photoshop, Image Ready, and Illustrator in the design and production of advanced interface graphics. Strong design and conceptual skills, creativity, knowledge of user-centered design principles, experience with creative production of advanced interface graphics, understanding of various Web browsers, and knowledge of accessibility issues.
