Web Site for IU President-Elect Launches Seamlessly
March 9, 2007
It was as if the Office of Creative Services staff was ready and waiting to create a new Web site that could launch the moment the new IU president was selected on March 1. Well…actually, we were.
When the Trustees of Indiana University announced Michael McRobbie, interim provost and vice president for academic affairs at IU Bloomington, would be the university’s 18th president, we were poised to launch a clean, classic-looking site that’s now being updated frequently with news, photos, and other pertinent information about the new president-elect.
The site features RSS feeds including remarks by McRobbie and news conference footage; a listing of his current schedule; a biography; a photo slide show with audio; links to media coverage; photo and video galleries; and more.
Interactive art director Dave Harper designed the site, Ashley Callahan did the programming and front-end implementation, Mary Miller helped create and format graphics for the photo gallery, and Nate Garrett implemented the news feed. Rebecca Salerno oversaw the project.
Vice President for University Relations Mike Sample called the new Web site “beautiful.”
“Please accept my sincere thanks, appreciation, and admiration for the extraordinary work all of you did to make the announcement and rollout of the new president such a huge success,” Sample wrote in a note to University Relations staffers.
