“10 Ways IU is Red Hot” on the Shortlist for Top International Honor for the Web

April 13, 2007

The International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences nominated Indiana University’s “Ten Ways IU is Red Hot” Web site for the best School Web site in the 11th Annual Webby Awards. The work was produced by the Indiana University Office of Creative Services.

Hailed as the “Oscars of the Internet” by the New York Times, The Webby Award is the leading international award honoring excellence on the Internet. The 11th Annual Webby Awards received a record 8,000 entries from over 60 countries and all 50 states.

“The Webby Awards honors the outstanding work that is setting the standards for the Internet,” said David-Michel Davies, executive director of The Webby Awards. “Indiana University’s Nominee selection is a testament to the skill, ingenuity, and vision of its creators.”

The Office of Creative Services launched this site in 2006 as part of the overall “IU is Red Hot” campaign. You can learn more about this Web site in our portfolio, and also view other materials from this campaign.

Please show your support and vote for us in the People’s Voice Award. Voting is open to the public until April 27. It takes a couple minutes to vote (you have to register), but we would really appreciate your support. Founded in 1996, The Webby Awards is known worldwide for its famous five-word speeches. Maybe ours will be “Thank you Indiana University fans.”
