CHALLENGE

To celebrate 20 years of the Center on Philanthropy. Our challenge was to capture the excitement, spirit of celebration, and pride in history associated with this milestone, yet stay true to the Center’s visual identity. The client wanted a series of materials that were distinctive and contemporary, but that still fit within the family of previously produced materials.

SOLUTION

We chose colors and typefaces that were consistent with the Center’s established look and palette. We first created a 20th anniversary mark to be used on all appropriate materials; the final design was distinctive, yet didn’t compete with the varying content in all these publications. We then punched up their established colors with a graphic treatment that conveyed both dignity and celebration. An event invitation, event program, celebration booklet, and sponsorship booklet completed the suite of publications. The creative concept for the celebration booklet involved innovative stagings of figures from the Center’s present positioned with photographs from the past. The thematic treatment conveys the future direction of the Center with respect to its dignified history.
